FWIW, I'm much more of a imperialist than Biden myself, but I give him credit for doing what he wanted to do 10 years ago when he was VP. I think his decision to truly end the war is only going to grow in popularity. Orange One is kicking himself for not doing it when he had the chance.
Anyone who can't find plenty of blame to go around isn't being intellectually honest. The Doha Agreement was terrible and isn't worth the paper it's written on. Biden was then handed the baton and promptly dropped it. The administration's position that any withdrawal would be chaotic is completely bogus. Biden's refusal to commit the forces necessary to secure a proper exit and his delay in getting the exit started made the withdrawal an absolute fiasco.

Right now withdrawing from Afghanistan is pretty popular. But there are a lot of people who supported the withdrawal who are sickened by how it was carried out. Its popularity in the future will be determined by what happens from here on out. If there's another terrorist attack on US soil coming from a group based in Afghanistan, then the withdrawal will be viewed as a disaster. If not, then it will remain approved of but likely fade from people's minds.

While I think you’re probably right about the perception, I don’t think the legitimate issues with our withdrawal would impact the likelihood of future attacks. The issues I have are that we didn’t do enough to be ready for the inevitable ****show of leaving during a Taliban takeover. We were never going to both leave Afghanistan any time remotely soon and also keep the Taliban out of control. We should have begun evacuations earlier for those in danger and had a more coherent exit strategy given the circumstances, but keeping the previous Afghani regime in place was always a joke.

I agree with the withdrawal issues not affecting future attacks. It's two separate issues. Whether we should have withdrawn or not is a completely distinct from how we withdrew. You can approve of the withdrawal and disapprove of how it was handled. The decision to withdraw could impact future attacks and that will be something that will have a bearing on Biden's legacy. But attacks or not, how we withdrew was absurd.

Ah yes, I sometimes forget that there is a depressingly large group for whom the withdrawal itself was the issue for some reason.

We have also been naive and thought this was just some quirky growing pains that so many were still dealing with it. Treating them as immature children throwing a temper tantrum that would eventually grow out of it.

Now all of the nonsense needs to be aggressively called out. Never back down to anything.

None of that excuses the myriad of mistakes that people have been mentioning in real time. Biden knew it was going to collapse quickly and he decided it was a good idea to remove air support from a strategic airbase and give the Taliban time to coordinate during fighting season.

You can't escape from the fact that you supported the worst regime in AMerican history.

Biden regime knew of an imminent terrorist attack at Kabul airport and yet still kept our armed forces outside of the gate performing CROWD CONTROL and 57's reaction is "Look at the prior administrations!"

You can't make up how unserious these people are and how we need to do everything possible to make sure that people who espouse the idiotic ideas that 57 supports never come close to even becoming a strong minority in our government.

Reporting now that the taliban sent communications to their Afghan allies saying how they have a full listing of collaborators and they are deciding on the method of torture.

I wonder how they got that listing?

But what about prior administrations 57 would say. ****ing moron.

You needn't wonder, the Biden administration openly stated that they gave a list of Americans and their allies to the Taliban so they would know who to let through.

The question will now be if the disaster we have seen was intentional all to benefit the CCP.

Anyone care about whats on Hunters laptop yet?

I hope the CCP makes aggressive moves in that region. It will be their death knell.
