Except one of them was lucky and headed for obvious regression where the other one hasn't been so far. Yup. Virtually identical.

Guess so. Beware then... Albies last 100 PAs, his BABIP is .375.

You are right. I wouldn't expect an 850 OPS from him right now either.

You literally just said Albies hasn't been lucky.

I expect both to be round .775-815 ops and 3-3.5 war next season

Overall on the season he hasn't been. The 850 OPS is what he's had over his last 100 ABs with the high BABIP that you referenced.

I'll give you the under .775 on Swanson. I'm not ready to say .800 on either... just round .800

Honestly, I would throw away September stats period, because since it has September call ups involved that may be AAAA it can skew stats.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Albies might be easier to sign since he hasnt made a lot of money yet. Same goes for Acuna.

If Swanson has a big year in 2018-19, he'll be more expensive to try and keep.

Agreed. Fewer and fewer good/great players have been signing extensions the last ~5 seasons as players and agents have wised up on how much money they have been leaving on the table.

Doing these extensions early may be the only way the Braves get either to sign.

I put very little stock in September stats, especially in games that don't involve contenders. If there has been a big upside in free agency it's that a lot of veterans continue to play for the bottom line, but there's still a lot of relative sleepwalking going on. Pre-free agency, calling it sleepwalking would have been generous.

I'm fine with extenting him to a deal that values him as a 1 WAR player

I'm not trying to turn this into a competition of the two. I love them both. I do think the Swanson we see of late is much closer to the real Swanson.

He may get .700 outright BTW
    .663 since our bet

.630 in September, not exactly a strong finish

I give you a choice regarding fulfilling the bet. The original: ole miss avatar. Or Swanson Sucks signature. This one is mean. Especially since you seem to like him so much. But I have a sadistic streak. Your choice.
