It's possible but baseball teams are moving closer towards the direction of most large companies in that there are many chiefs with their own staff. Who the ultimate report may be is definitely fun to debate.

Of course he is. But don't worry everything is still all positive in Braves land and this was planned for awhile now.

It's 2017, the Braves are terrible, attendance/revenue is way lower than anticipated, and people are paying the price.

This is what happens when top execs don't produce as expected...they replace the guys directly under them as a way to show they are trying to fix the problems. Snit will most likely also be sacrificed as a scapegoat, as was intended from the day he was hired.

I realize many will insist on keeping their heads in the sand, but all signs point to many high profile seats being very hot. If the rebuild doesn't bear fruit at the MLB level next year, and they don't draw 3M+, I expect to see a complete house cleaning of the Braves FO.

This also means the Braves are almost certainly going to "go for it" this offseason, to the detriment of the long term sustainable success of the franchise, in a last ditch attempt to save everyone's jobs.

I'd speculate that the recent FO changes indicate that Hart is slowly reducing his operational role and Coppy is getting some more latitude to build his own staff and sink or swim with it. I think that's for the best. Not a knock on Hart necessarily, but we need clear accountability at the top of baseball operations, IMO.

I wonder which faction is more in control? The FO does seem to have split identity. On one side you have moves like picking up Gohara, AJax, Demerite, Touki etc that seem to be rooted in good scouting. Then there are moves like Kemp, Jim Johnson, fat Bart and Garcia being our starting 3rd base that seem to be based on scouting the back of a baseball card.

I hope the back of the baseball card guys are on their way out.

If next year is sink or swim, if it's sink I hope Schuerholz is sent packing along with it.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

From Bowman, looks like Dayton Moore may return next year:

"One variable in this decision (retaining Snitker) will be the future of Braves president of baseball operations John Hart, whose current contract expires at the end of this season. There has long been speculation that Royals general manager Dayton Moore could return to Atlanta next year in some capacity. But given the amount of input Hart has had on the recent front office restructuring, it seems he is committed to returning."

Nothing says "we are committed to Coppy" like bringing in Dayton Moore haha

I don't think creating two new senior positions in the org including at least one special Assistant to Coppy is necessarily a sign of money problems, lack of confidence in Coppy or a power struggle.

Bringing back Drayton Moore might well be.

Don't really love the idea of bringing in Moore at all. I know KC won it all and had a good run, but he really made two good trades his entire tenure.

I'm guessing they bring in Moore if Hart leaves? Maybe Hart is sticking around to try and more firmly give Coppy the keys to the ship? At least that's my interpretation.

I don't think potentially adding Moore is necessarily indicative of a power struggle, although it does lend credence to the idea that the 'Schuerholz faction' is still pulling some strings.

Moore would be getting out of town just ahead of the mob then.

Has anyone bothered to look at the situation that KC is in? Horrible contracts across the board and the vast majority of its best players about to hit FA with almost no chance they sign back with KC and the minor league system has to be no better than bottom third...

So basically just like Schuerholz left KC for the Braves.
