Minter has a small sample size xwOBA of .216. Those are 80 grade results for a BP arm so far. How is he doing it?
FA: 96.0 MPH, 4,2x, 9.6z
The fastball has 70 grade velo and fringe average movement. This is a 65/70 grade pitch.
SL: 89.8 MPH, -2.2x, 3.5z
This is a hard slider with more of a sweeping movement and less sink than the average slider. I would hang a 55 on this pitch.
Command: 0 BBs in 7 MLB IP, showed average or better command in 2016 in the minors. Probably 50 or better moving forward.
Overall: A poor man's Gohara with 2 good offerings from the LH side of the rubber. He probably won't keep up the .216 xwOBA once he starts walking a few guys, but he should be a legit high leverage BP arm as long as he stays healthy (which is obviously the biggest question with Minter).
