That was over 83 sliders. It's probably unrealistic for us to expect him to fix a flaw like that in a few weeks and is still something worth monitoring.

Nah, that's what really good relievers are paid for.

It seemed like Newcomb had lost it to me. Good call.

One nice possibility is the braves could really have a pretty deep pen next year. Winkler and Minter make quite a difference.

Is Jace going to cling to the team based on ph prowess and position versatility?

I assumed he was a goner.

Lindgren will be a very good lh reliever. His slider is gonna make a lot of people look like Swanson haha

Albies is quite possibly the Braves best hitter vs LHers. Having him hit between Inciarte or Markakis and Freeman is exactly what this offense needed.

Sort of looks like the Starters might only need to go about 6.

Who do you think starts and finishes the year as closer?

I totally agree but Snit won't use Winkler back to back even pitching to one batter probably...gotta say I'm super confident now if the Braves have a lead and Winkler, Freeman, Ramirez, Viz or Minter are pitching...I don't mind seeing more of Brothers but JJ, Krol, Wisler and the newly activated Motte need to go...I know most of us have screamed ad nauseum about Akeel

I've yet to see Lindgren pitch but I know they are super high on him, might have to go to YouTube and check that out...

That was Newcomb's best start of the year by far, it would be awesome for him to close out the season with some more like that and you go into next year with a totally different mindset...I'll be eagerly anticipating some Statcast numbers from Enscheff when they become available tomorrow

And you weren't kidding about Lindgren's slider, should be a nice left handed addition for the BP next year..this is two scoreless innings vs the Yanks

They have the record. I'm tired of the media saying that they have the longest AL streak and 2nd longest all-time. The 1916 Giants had a tie. It's not a winning streak unless you win. They have the longest streak without a loss. The Indians have the longest winning streak.

Actually, I just looked it up.

They called the game in the 9th, and then they replayed the ENTIRE game the next day. The game didn't count in the standings.

    Eh...that makes things more complicated.

Didn't watch. Love that newk stat line. I read he left with the bases loaded. Did he look great?

Winkler could be a dude if he could ever stay healthy

Assuming Newcomb can maintain his K rate, what does he have to get his BB rate down to be a likely success?
