For the Nick Swisher example, there were about 3 - 4 of them at Scout. Should be a fair question to ask somebody to explain the thought process in his own words? To be fair, most of them hardly post here. As for the others, they're very much around.

Skip those mentions - how nice would it have been to have Franco 8-10 years before we got him???

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Swisher was a good player through his tenure with the Yankees and broke down like so many do on the other side of 30. Acting like he wouldn't have helped the braves in his prime is dumb just like most of knucksies comments.

Should've never bothered with him at all. He was OK if you need clubhouse clown during rain delays though. Also note that made Top 5 of Most Hated Players list Poll, which was conducted with the players themselves.

Check out the post-season #'s. He rose to the occasion once, meaning it was an aberration. Every other time, he sucked ass wind when it mattered most. That was the norm.

Would hate like *ell if the once that was 1995 never occurred, but that's just me.

Wake up people. Snit was hired precisely for this reason...to be sacrificed if the rebuild didn't work out in 2017.

What exactly has to happen before folks realize the FO is in serious jeopardy of losing their jobs? Does the CEO of Liberty media have to come out and bluntly state, "they didn't win like they promised, and revenue did not meet projections" before folks wake up?

    From the article:

"The Braves’ average home attendance in their first season at SunTrust is 30,750, the fifth-lowest of the 15 ballparks that have opened since 2000. Hart and Coppolella are virtually certain to pursue some big-name additions that will excite fans, and the likely arrivals of top prospects such as outfielder Ronald Acuna also will keep interest high. But if a new manager is hired and the team continues to sputter, the decision-makers will fall under scrutiny. A franchise can promise a better future and scapegoat managers for only so long"

Seriously guys, pull your heads out of the sand get a damn clue.
You're saying front offices must eventually produce results or their jobs might be in jeopardy? That's pretty shocking stuff.

And I'm saying it's happening now.

Pozzies dispute that assertion. They still think all is well in rebuildville.

Yeah, I mean, Hart has now been here for 3 seasons, and Coppy has technically been GM for 2. You're not going to get more than 4-5 years of losing, ever, before a change is made. So obviously the clock is ticking. Will one or both be gone if next year isn't a playoff year? I doubt it. But would their seat suddenly become scorching hot? Absolutely.

I think the expectation is that Hart will be gone soon, but the real question is whether his extended stay is some show of no confidence in Coppy from JS or Liberty. That's where the whole Drayton Moore may be returning throw in was the most interesting part of the Rosenthal article. That actually could be a sign of internal divisions and old regime interference.

If there is a lack of confidence in Coppy, this could change up quicker than anyone believes.

If Coppy is secure then I don't see anything happening until 2019 like you say, at the earliest.

I'll wait and see what moves they make this offseason, but nothing they've done so far has demonstrated a whole lot of insecurity.

But the day is approaching when they have to show progress and I don't think that is a surprise to anyone.
