As long as they just protested peacefully I don't have a problem with it. I think insanely red states and insanely blue states could both use a dose of "hey assholes, your point of view isn't the only one" medicine every now and then. Just my opinion though.
I would go a bit further. The very blue states in the part of the country I currently live in have often benefited from having a Republican governor who pumped the brakes on the excesses of the Democrats.

Yeah, brakes on excesses are like eating right and exercising, everybody needs those things but not that many people will do them without a little "nudge". ;)
