Gohara's velocity seems to be back. Very good news.

It will drop again as well. Pitchers are humans and sometimes their body feels good and sometimes it doesn't. During those times when you don't have your A game you have to rely on control and secondary offerings.

I'm real encouraged he has done well even when he was sitting 92-94.

Before this game Albies was pacing at a 5.1 WAR. Incredible.

I'm not getting too excited about Albies. I fully expect the FO to go full retard and trade him away for an "ace" in hopes that they win and keep their jobs beyond 2018.

Interesting thought experiment: what's the return if we trade Acuna and Albies this off-season. We'd be selling high on both.

Only signed through 2020. I think the Angels would have to kick in some significant extra value.

Trading Trout is impossible. Best player in baseball but the trade value isn't the best to simply put it. Angels would require much more value coming their way to justify trading him. No team is going to give that up.

Interesting. Albies has increased his value from a year ago as a top ~10. That's not always the easiest to do. Acuna is going to have huge value this off season as a top 1-3 prospect. If he performs like many are hoping then his value would increase a ton. You could say we could be selling low on Acuna if he starts out on fire.

I think they both have expected surplus value north of 10 wins for their six years of contractual control. 10 is conservative.

Gohara has been incredibly efficient through most of his starts so far. That has been the real surprise for me. Glad his velo is back up.

Honestly,I would be fine eating a ton a Kemp’s contract and giving Lane a chance next year. Lane, Ender and Acuna wouldn’t give a ton of power, but then again...neither does Kemp except the 20% of the time his hammy feels decent. Would be a great defensive outfield and major speed on the base path.

No question defensive players like Heyward impact the game when they are in the field. I've never said otherwise.

Lane Adams would run into 15-20 Homers in a full time roll. The ball is juiced and we need to change our expectations for players until this gets corrected.

Kemp can't even break an OPS over 800 in the juiced ball era

I'm not sure there is a player I would trade Albies for right now.
