I think Coppy now realizes how bad his situation is and is hoping to lay the groundwork for reinstatement. It wouldn't surprise me if his ban was rescinded in a couple years provided there's sufficient grovelling.

Coppy is definitely going to be reinstated at some point. No way he was ever in the same company as Rose or Black Sox.

Right. If he admitted guilt decades ago he would have already been forgiven by Selig.
What Coppy did was against the rules but it’s definitely not tainting the game directly on the field like the others.
