I remember when one of the more polarizing posters here made fun of people for wanting to trade for Brendan Rodgers... looking like a helluva cog in a contender right now.

Boras said. “It’s a major adjustment. ... There’s a psychological component to this. A lot of this has to do with psychology. When a hitter comes up to the plate and sees four guys on the right side of the infield, I think it’s a bit intimidating.”

As a good agent, he should be making some recordings of how Freddie Freeman handles the shift and sharing them with his clients.

former braves Willians Astudillo was having quite the season in AAA (.290/.321/.489, 7 HR, 6 SB, 2.7% BB, 4.8% K) and got the call to Minnesota over the weekend. he promptly tripled, as well (at 5'9" listed 225, but probably more like 245). love rooting for this guy.

I'm torn...Kurt Suzuki is only like 200 k behind on the All Star Ballot...I'd love to see him make it, but I also would like him to get that time off.

Freeman, Albies, and Neck continue to lead their positions in the all-star voting which ends later this week. Freeman and Neck are locks with Ozzie in the 'more than likely' category. I also suspect Folty gets selected as a pitcher too. Been awhile since that many Braves are put on the team.

Yeah, and I'd guess Newk has an outside shot.

The NL OF voting is a complete joke.

I don't care much about AS game because it's a clown show affair catering to the absolute dumbest fans, and Cain not being the starter in CF pretty much proves that point.

    2. Mike Moustakas, Royals: The veteran third baseman is having another solid season on the offensive side, ranking 10th among qualified big league third basemen with a .477 slugging percentage. Additionally, he maintains one of the lowest strikeout rates (14.4 percent) at the position while seeing his walk rate (7.3 percent) rise relative to his 2017 clip (5.7 percent). Moose was not dealt last year after Kansas City opted to keep its core together for another postseason run, but that should not be the case this summer with the Royals sitting more than 30 games under .500.

Prediction: Moustakas goes to the Braves for a pair of prospects, left-hander Kolby Allard (MLB.com's No. 50 prospect) and right-hander Touki Toussaint (Atlanta's No. 11 prospect).

    7. Zach Britton, Orioles: Britton is still trying to get himself into pitching form after missing the first two-plus months while recovering from surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles, and scouts have said Britton's fastball velocity and movement are below what they want from a major trade piece. Expecting the 30-year-old to improve considerably may be wishful thinking, but he is a buy-low candidate with high upside. At his best, Britton is a dominant closer that any team would love to add to the back of their bullpen. The Braves have surprised everyone and should make a bold move.

Prediction: Britton joins Atlanta for left-hander Max Fried (MLB.com's No. 73 prospect).

Someone got into their parents' liquor cabinet. If Anthropoulos would do either of these trades, he should be making sandwiches at Subway with Coppolella.

    Bahahaha.

I'll get a date with Gal Gadot before either of those trades happen. The Royals would be lucky to get someone the caliber of Alex Jackson for Moose. Guys that get passed over in FA and get forced to sign a deal with only 1 guaranteed year do not bring back top 100 prospects.

Britton might have pulled someone of Fried's caliber before his injury, but with less than a month before FA and a rough start back from a serious injury, it's extremely unlikely they get anyone close to Fried's value. Plus Fried himself is likely a rotation stalwart with our rotation revolving players on and off the DL.
