Phillies need to go at least 6-1 against the Braves in these 7 games to even have a chance.

Dodgers have some platoon strentghs/weaknesses that need to be taken into account. AA knows them very well.

In theory we shouldn't mind the Dodgers given that most of this team is better against lefties than righties but the regular season was so ugly I don't think I can toss those results in the trash. If they end up in the playoffs (which of course isn't determined yet but getting closer) I think they're going to the World Series again. They're easily the most talented team in the NL and better than Chicago still, even if Chicago has the best record in the NL.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Indeed. Dodgers are a good team but not as strong as years past imo.

Yes, Culberson vs Kemp is a big selective advantage for the Braves.

As a long time Braves fan I think we are due for the Baseball Gods to gift us a series win. Maybe Sid Bream used up all our luck.

I know the Marlins couldn't have predicted that Yelich would be as good as he has been, but man that trade is looking like a disaster for them. They could have gotten a much better package from the Braves.

What was reported we were willing to trade? And what were some of the popular trade proposals on the Braves message boards?

The rumors were the Braves were interested in trading some of their pitching prospects that were ranked in the middle of the top 100 lists. Whether that's true or not who knows. The Marlins were asking teams for their top rated OF prospect to replace him which is why they insisted on Acuna and ended up with the Brewers top OF prospect.

That's because the Marlins are a dumb franchise. Two or three of the Braves' top prospects would have been much better in general.

I'm guessing the Marlins could have ended up with Pache and some decent pitching prospects...maybe Ian Anderson.

Of which Russell do you reference? Addison Russell? Russell Wilson? James Russell?

I think that package would have been universally accepted by Braves fans.

But this revisionist history is unfair to the Marlins. They got good value for Yelich. It’s just too bad that Brinson (60 FV at the time) has turned out to be garbage.
