To longtime Braves fans, Mike McQueen will always been the teenage phenom who threw a complete game at the Big Red Machine in 1970 but who could not avoid serious injury problems.
As I detailed in my series the 10 Darkest Days in the history of the Braves, he was already dealing with arm issues when he was seriously injured (along with top hitting prospect Jim Breazeale) in an off-season traffic accident and never returned to form.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Central on Saturday October 14 in his hometown of Batesville, Arkansas.
