Chipper Jones picked the Dodgers to win in 4.

Just heard it on 680 the fan. Chipper apparently was interviewed this morning on the Front Row and picked the Dodgers to win the series in 4.

Chipper grew up a Dodgers fan. Whats the point of asking a player if they just pick the team they played for. Chipper did more than enough for the Braves, they could find a dead hooker in his house and I would still love him.

Just listened to the whole interview. Chipper doesn't give us much hope. He said the Dodgers are the best team in baseball and he thinks they'll win in 4 due to Kershaw and Greinke. He mentioned several times that if a pitcher is on there's really nothing you can do other then try to run up their pitch count and hope to get to the bullpen. He said even if we were able to force it to 5 we would have to face Kershaw again.

I"m not afraid of Greinke, and would give us a 25% chance of stealing Game 1 or 5 v. Kershaw. I think the series is 50-50

I would go probably 60-40 Dodgers win. It was sort of an odd interview in that one of the co-hosts said something to the effect of "We're all picking the Braves to come out of the NL, who do you have coming up out of the Al?" Chipper immediately chimed in that he was picking the Dodgers to win in 4 and the hosts immediately shifted the conversation to college football.

I agree with Chipper that the series will go four games, but unlike him I'm picking the Braves in four.

It's a bit hypocritical that he uses the excuse "when a good pitcher is on, there's nothing you can really do". Then what is the excuse for our rotation of Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz coming up short every year? Surely, we should have dominated and nobody should have had a chance.

I mean I get where he is coming from, and there's a good chance he could be right, but I'm not buying it.

I think game 1 is very important. But a little more important for the Dodgers than us.

Problem is a lot of the time, our Big Three weren't "on." I wouldn't be surprised with any outcome in the series, maybe a little surprised if the Braves swept.

I really do not see any "SUPER" team in the postseason, at least one that stands out to me as the very best. I think all eight teams are pretty evenly matched, and that every series could max out. I think it is as wide open as any postseason I can remember.

Btw BP's PECOTA system, using the likely lineups as the input, gives the Dodgers a 59% chance of winning game 1.

Chipper has been reading too many posts on this website. The gross negativity has clouded his mind. (Besides that just creates one more person to eat a great, big "sh*t-burger" if and when the Braves win it all!!).

It reminds me of Pat Dye saying Georgia wasn't man enough to beat Alabama on the road back in 2002, I think it was.

    Couldn't disagree more.

If they win Game 1, they are playing with house money in Game 2.

Most teams look for a split on the road, taking both is gravy.

    I agree with Chipper btw.

I am absolutely shocked that you, specifically, would be so cynical about the Braves' chances for success!
