how many instances of one shaky accusation taking down a person are there? it's not the case with anyone who's been discussed so far. if schiano saw that happening and did little to nothing, sure, i could see that being held against him.
one random accusation hasn't crushed anyone.

I mean... it just happened with Shiano.
There was so little evidence against him that they didn't even press charges. And yet, he's now been blacklisted from ever getting a head coaching job ever again.
We now auto-assume guilt. And if anyone doesn't defend that position, dumb**** goldy will accuse of being a child raper enabler.
weird
i believe in both of those things
cause they are both factually in this world at times unfortunately

McQueary testified to that tho, didn't he?
And who said Schiano will never get a HC job again? He still currently has a prestigious job right now, albeit not as a HC. If people don't want someone even mildly associated with that whole mess leading their big-time CFB team, then that's understandable.
You won't find many instances of one woman making an accusation against a man and everyone believing it. Due process is applicable when it comes to actual court, not the court of public opinion. I don't need Roy Moore to be confirmed guilty (in a trial that won't happen) to believe the many accusers. This idea that people are quick to auto-believe every accusation is off base. It ignores context and nuance.

republicans on sexual harassment/abuse: deny it in the face of many harassed/abused women, pretend it never happened, vote the abuser into office.

calling on moore to leave the race is only done because he's now very vulnerable. calling on franken to resign while leaving trump alone is about as hypocritical as anything i've ever seen.

How about the novel idea of calling on them (those with credible accusations against them - Moore, Conyers, Francine, TrumP, etc.) all to hit the road? And when they don't, and party loyalists not pressuring them to do so, recognize it for what it is - enabling creeps for political "gain." And then the moral bankruptcy of the enablers...

I predict every Republican not named Rand Paul will have sexual assault allegations made against them after they win the Republican nomination. Politics is a dirty business. Accusations real and false are going to be weaponized. There are a lot of people out there who want to do away with due process for men accuse of sex crimes. Any allegation is going to be considered fact by a sizeable chunk of voters.
