Yeah I don't even understand the point? The execs' jobs are in trouble, so what difference does it make if we call up Acuna early??? How about losing a full year of control on a prospect for the sake of TWO WEEKS. If the execs lose their jobs because of that... good. But gaining that extra year of control just makes wayyyy too much sense for the front office to toy with that idea

Assuming that Acuna is in RF all year is it possible that we can get 1.5 WAR out of the most expensive LF platoon in history?
Even Jim Callis gets the service clock issue with Acuna on a losing team and said he should be in AAA for a month.

It’s literally the case that the Braves FO are the only ones stupid enough to think having him on the MLB roster opening day is a good idea. Well, the Braves FO and the dumbest posters here think it’s a good idea.

To answer your question, yes, a Kemp/Markakis platoon could probably produce 1-2 wins next year, especially if Kemp is subbed out defensively in a fashion consistent with modern day baseball strategy.

Makes me fit in with every other poster here - last time I checked, no one else is qualified to do it either. At least some of us are comfortable admitting we're just fans.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

There are 4-5 posters on this board I'd take over JS

Like most braves pitchers I think he needs a third pitch. A lot of dominant two pitch guys. Nobody but soroka has a third pitch worth $hit

To be fair, Fried’s change is probably average or slightly better now. He has the building blocks of a legit #3.

His issues will be the straightness of the fastball and command.

I would prefer Acuna stay in AAA enough to manipulate the system, but I can see how he could open the season in Atlanta as to not show the game attending fans from the beginning you don't plan on trying to win.

Jesus, he hasn't run the club in ten years and he was pretty good at it when he did. I honestly think you probably do believe that people on the board would do better and that explains a lot about the last decade of politics among other things.

He’s currently pushing for Jim Hendry to run the club, so there’s that.

I think when it comes to recent Braves decisions in the last 4 years, I've been right far more than the FO was.

    Thank God for Dave Stewart

Just realized Brett Cumberland is playing in Australia on the same team Acuna did last summer. http://web.theabl.com.au/roster/index.jsp?sid=t4067

Also on that team -- Matt Marksberry, Jon Kennedy and Delmon Young.

I think Enscheff has been pretty nice, his standards, the last few months but to be perfectly honest, he would run laps around any of our office people in the last decade. He might come across as uppity/know-it-all/dick to most of us, but he usually backs it up through links, through analysis and his thorough understanding of different metrics.

He earns the right to have a big head and seeing how we post in giving reverence to him, a lot of us agree. I wish I was one of Liberty figure heads and I saw how he post and how he dresses down GM's with factual data through analysis. I would give him a call to see his interest, because unlike them, Enscheff has a clue.

Okay, you guys can shoot me, but its the truth and I will man up if you do shoot me because I am not taking back what I said.

Why I said this, someone posted at least 5 of us can do a better job with the Front Office than what we have and I thought it is best to give a thanks to Enscheff to actually making a lot of us look silly because he is usually right.
