I'm getting the highest speeds (1 gig) I've ever gotten for the cheapest price I've ever paid ($40).
Looks like the internet didn't die
I'm torn. I like the idea of a wild wasteland with no rules. But it does suck that I'm paying so much more for the services I have, and something definitely needs to be done about the small regional monopolies so many providers enjoy.
I can maybe get DSL for 40bucks. I'm one of the lucky people who gets to pay Spectrum 60 bucks a month plus fees for 100 Mbps which has been the holding rate for 6 years now I think. Anyway I say lucky because if you don't have Cable you can pay for Satellite internet. Woo hoo.

That's the way it's been most places I've lived, even in NJ. Unless you were one of the lucky ones to live where FIOS was dropped in you got hosed on your internet service.
Now conversely, little Vermont thanks to net neutrality has a Fiber Network. It's pretty pricy but I would happily pay more money for equivalent upload and download speeds. I'm struggling to play games on my 80 ping 10 Mbps internet.

Elon investing heavily in satellite internet will be a game changer for rural areas.
It will potentially be a game changer. Depends on if Starlink can handle the load it could have and no cap on data. That's where it would change the game. If Rural people could have access to 50-100Mbps internet for around 100 bucks that would be a huge boost over Hughesnet.

If Biden doesn't implement NN immediately, the internet just doesn't stand a chance
That's because of 5G rollouts starting. If you had half a pulse on technology you'd understand that.
Also cute source. I'm guessing you thoroughly vetted it...

LOL.
Let me go ask the 10,000 software engineers I work what they think so I can get my pulse on tech.
Why aren't you glad that the internet didn't die? You seem mad about it
