Rural Southerners are so poor and dumb

That Dollar General is the most popular store in red areas:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/comp...Qva?li=BBnbfcN

This whole article made me laugh. Some of the best quotes:

"one of three locations in Rhea County where Dollar General plans to open stores by next year. More than one in five people there receive government food assistance, higher than the U.S. average, and the county has Tennessee’s highest unemployment rate."

"Camouflage is a proven winner. This year, Dollar General became the exclusive seller of dog food from the camouflage-gear brand Mossy Oak. “Even off-brand camo does well here,” said the Evensville store manager Justin Ray, who has a display of camouflage merchandise, including pacifiers and pet toys."

"For decades, Dollar General prices have been marked in 5-cent increments, making it easier for shoppers to estimate the total price of their purchases. “They don’t want to be embarrassed when they get up to the register,” said Mr. Vasos"

    LOL!!

Poor unemployed rednecks buying anything in camo with price increments in 5 cents so they can do the math in their head.

Then they vote GOP who are in the process of giving even more money to rich people.

I guess as long as rednecks can keep buying camo printed bags of chips for 45 cents they will consider themselves middle class and keep voting red! Haha!

That pretty hilarious. Anything in camo sells.

Last month I won a camouflage golf bag, one that I would never in a million years buy. But it's also probably the best bag I've ever owned. Got all the right pockets, etc.

Haha I can’t wait until the political winds shift in the next 2-3 years and talks of succession spring up among the dumb twats.

I have a feeling they will be met with a loud “good riddance” from the rest of the country. It would be awesome to rid ourselves of the useless, poor, uneducated, obese, bigoted sister kissing states. They can have bonfires around their conderferate statues while munching on pork rinds they bought at the dollar store until the rest of their teeth fall out.

Just a note, when making a thread about how dumb a population is you might want to make sure the words you use are correct.

It can be fun to **** on the South, but Enscheff ... you live in Reno, dude.

Your city is like a festering herpe on a buxom blonde that is the Western United States.

Making jokes about Southerners missing teeth, when you live in a meth capital of America.

    Irony.

Dayton, TN (Rhea County) is actually a pretty cool area. I grew up right next to it in a much smaller and poorer town called Decatur and still live about 30 miles away in Cleveland. The Scopes Monkey Trial took place in Dayton. It's a pretty town with a cool history. It also has a kick-ass Brewery called Monkey Town Brewery that opened recently and produces some very tasty micro-brews along with a solid food menu. It's worth stopping by if you are passing by this way.

I once ****ed myself up in a MTB accident in rural Nevada. I had plans the next day with my cousin, who lives in LV, so I called him to say that I was trussed up and doped to the gills and might not make our date. When I told him where I was his exact quote was "Christ, were you riding your bike to a meth deal?"

I actually like Reno, despite never gaining a taste for meth. It has the right kind of seediness, unlike Vegas' glitzy, carnauba-waxed corporate seediness.

Vegas has that seediness. Fremont Street.

Downtown Reno is one of the most depressing places I've ever been. And I love places like Liverpool and Detroit.

Just hold your nose and keep driving until you get to Tahoe.

I know. But you have to seek out Fremont and the Old Strip and that biz; it isn't what the city present to you.

Reno just serves up the seedy on a platter the moment you drop into the metro.

I don't know—I haven't been to downtown Detroit since the height of the recession, but downtown Detroit 2009-11 was more depressing by leaps and bounds than any level Reno has to offer. Plus Detroit never had the vice-industry focus and the on-point neon game.

Old Vegas kinda owns. And I say this as an avowed LV-hater who only visited there for reasons professional and familial.

Plan to spend a few days there post-Christmas after yuletiding in upper Arizona. Luckily Phoenix and Vegas are two of the easier places to get to from Missoula on the quick&cheap (thanks to Allegiant).

Old Vegas is what took me from hating Las Vegas to being fiercely ambivalent about it.
