And yes...it's a risk just as not selling high was but he's a career 3.5 ish ERA pitcher with a 1.2 WHIP and over 1000 innings in his pocket. If they go out and get an ace...well alright then. No one is sitting around saying don't trade him, but selling low seems counter productive to what the Braves want /need to achieve in the short and long term.
Teheran has shown himself to be extremely streaky during his career and if he were to start off next year on a hot streak, his value would likely increase. Such a performance streak could be a mirage, but if he is viewed as a possible missing piece for a true contender, they may roll the dice. He'd be a salary dump at this point in the off-season.
If Yankees would accept, Julio for Frazier would make sense for both sides.
Even though Frazier hasnt proven all that much to this point.

Julio has 3/31 left on his deal. I'm not surprised AA is going to shop him to see what he can get. His stuff is declining and his fly ball tendencies aren't going to work in todays game.

It's not. But I don't think his homerun numbers are going to improve anytime soon. His stuff is likely going to continue to decline as well. I understand why the Braves kept him. They wanted a quick rebuild and wanted a cheap and good pitcher in Julio to help anchor the staff. Well obviously that time frame didn't happen and now Julio is a different pitcher. AA is reassessing the Braves time frame of contention and if it's not this year or next then Julio needs to be traded to get something out of him.

Which is why it's sensible to trade Teheran, if any good enough is out there (again: if teams can recognize as easily as us that he's a solid bounce-back candidate and value him as such); and meanwhile not sensible to sign Moustakas unless the deal is cut-throat bargain level.

JT for Yelich?? What would it take to get Yelich?
The market for SPs is pretty ****ty, so there should be decent offers for Teheran. Problem is, the Braves then have to replace him by shopping in the same ****ty SP market.
Selling low on Teheran simply makes no sense right now. Things may be different at the trade deadline though.
Gohara, Folty, Newk, Fried, and Sims. AA could realistically roll with that if he had to, to buy some time for Soroka, Allard, and Wright to be ready. Teheran for Frazier makes a ton of sense for both sides really.

If they “did” trade Julio ...Julio $10 mil, JJ $5 mil, Matt Adams 4mil. I think AA is looking to get players HE likes and I bet he isn’t big on Julio. AA is either about to shed Kemp or sign someone. He is freeing up the cash for something. I don’t see him trading any of our prospects at this point, but I do see him churning our MLB roster.
