I know it’s petty, but I’m glad to see Chipper with the most votes.
If Mike Trout retired tomorrow would he get the nod for the Hall of Fame? He's 10ish bwar behind Andre Dawson. Just something that randomly popped into my head. I think after next season Mike Trout could retire and make a strong argument that he belongs in the Hall.
thank you weso1!

The real question is will trout wear an angels cap or Braves cap on induction day.

Andruw only just over 9% of the ballots. I'd like to see him end up on at least 20%, something to build from going forward. I'd really like to see him eventually included, and strongly believe he deserves it (generally speaking, and over great but slightly-overrated guys like Guerrero).

Players who played in fewer than 10 MLB seasons are ineligible for Veterans Committee election.
(A) Eligible candidates must be selected from managers, umpires, executives and players, who meet the following criteria related to their classification:
• Players who played in at least 10 major league seasons, who are not on Major League Baseball's ineligible list, and have been retired for 15 or more seasons;
• Managers and umpires with 10 or more years in baseball and retired for at least five years. Candidates who are 65 years or older are eligible six months following retirement;
• Executives retired for at least five years. Active executives 70 years or older are eligible for consideration regardless of the position they hold in an organization, and regardless of whether their body of work has been completed.

For me there's no reason you can include defensive first guys like Ozzie Smith and not include Andruw. Once in a generation defensive talents deserve their spot too. Andruw also had some semi-respectable offensive stats.
Vlad is the product of the right era. If Vlad played baseball 5 years later he wouldn't be doing this well on the ballot because he would be critiqued a lot more. He didn't get 3000 hits, or 500 homers. He hit over .300 but his OBP was under .400. And position scarcity is a thing that people are growing more and more knowledgeable about.

Up to 90 ballots, 21.6 percent. Bonds, Clemens, Mussina on the ragged edge. One, two, all three or none could make it. Four or over 85 percent and Trevor Hoffman is holding steady at 78 percent. A seven-man induction class is amazing and breaks the logjam in the future. One thing I read was that only Mariano Rivera is a slam dunk in the Class of 2019. That figures now to be the year for Bonds, Clemens, Mussina and Schilling to ascend. In Fred McGriff's last year, will he get a record bump?
What that also does is allow other players who are the 11th and 12th men on a 10-man ballot to get their votes. Talking Larry Walker, Andruw Jones, Vizquel,

No more votes for Andruw as total ballots pass 75 percent. Sosa, Sheffield have gotten more of a boost among the hangers-on.
However, Chipper now several votes ahead of Thome for overall. He is on a pace to have one of the highest percentages ever.
