But what if we could have achieved those objectives, at roughly the same price, by forgoing tax cuts — and wiping out every penny of student debt in the United States, instead?

If you ever care to discuss College debt and policies that can be beneficial to all let me know.

During the 2016 campaign when fellow Braves fans talked endlessly about how the (R) / Trump as a marriage would uphold basic longstanding (R) principles I was one that thought and warned if that was what you were basing your vote on that was not at all in Trumps DNA makeup
As the Trump budgets unfold, the history of a trail of bankruptcies, steaks, wineries and Atlantic City are rearing their ugly head.
I warned he ran a gambling house into the ground --- where the odds always favor the house

President Trump is remaking the Republican economic playbook in his own image, abandoning ideological consistency in *favor of a debt-busting strategy that will upend how Washington taxes and spends trillions of dollars each year

Huge tax break while raising the budget, the debt and throwing money at infrastructure, too. Yeah, Trump really knows the economy. He will own the next recession, which is already being talked about like it's inevitable.

And who was the last Republican not to sky rocket the national debt while in office?

More horrible news.
What will end up happening is that all these public programs giving hand outs will show massive surpluses because people are working now and making more money. Entitlement reforms are going to take place and that is a great thing. Won't balance the budget but knock of those expenses while raising revenue because of increased GDP and you will work towards a balance budget. Problem is that we have been given such a ****ty balance sheet from the last 16 years of disaster that you aren't left with many good decisions in the short term to balance. You can't fix 16 years of mismanagement in 1 year and sometimes problems have to get worse before they get better.

The deficit is a disaster and of course Obama set the precedent.
But you're going to need to stop blaming tax cuts for them. It's up to Congress to spend the money they have appropriately.
