    Hypothetical Trade

Curious to see what everyone says.

The Angels seem to be moving all in to compete in 2018 with the moves they've made.

They still seem to be short on pitching.

    They just signed Maitan.

Would you do a Teheran for Maitan trade assuming MLB would allow it?

Not saying I would do it. Just curious as to the thinking of the board.

Assuming you could do it, would you?

I would trade Teheran in a minute for the right return. But I don't think Maitan is the right return now. I think he was over-hyped quite a bit and his signing bonus with the Angels tells me that the consensus around baseball was that he probably won't be that good. He certainly didn't spark any kind of unique bidding war.

I would trade, for instance, Teheran to the Brewers for Phillips and Lutz since Phillips is close and at least likely to have a ML future of some kind and I see Lutz as an equal or better long term play than Maitan.

But straight up for Maitan? I don't believe in his future enough for that.
