Thome to Cleveland is almost a given though, Vlad's LA vs. Montreal in PT was basically 1 season, about 600 PA. Basically 60% of Thome's career was spent in Cleveland. With 15% in Philly and little more than 15% in Chicago with a sprinkling between Minnesota, LA and Baltimore. Hardly comparable to Vlad. Only way Thome gets another is as a split.

To me it's clear where he was best at and that the Hall just doesn't want anymore Expos in.

Yeah the Hall can overrule a player if the player makes a stupid decision but it’s mainly the players call. That’s why Maddux was able to go in with a blank cap.
