In light of other recent discussion in this thread veering to other topics, I'm going to put this article here.

I think she is going to lose her case. Partly because a good oboist is a lot harder to find than a good flutist.

The part about having auditions behind screens is interesting. The changes in number of female orchestra players after the "blind audition" policy was adopted does suggest sexism is alive and well in the world of classical music.

    "I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."

    "I am your retribution."

He avoided using pronouns because he doesn't think a girl should be referred to as "he"

I again remind you that a person was fired from the state over pronouns.
I’m not sure how you get here. It’s distinctly disrespectful. If for no other reason than because you’re singling out that student for treatment that is categorically different than any other student, but primarily because you are denying that student alone the recognition of a basic element of their humanity. To you, I don’t suppose this matters, because you have consistently aired a perspective on gender that conforms to a binary of one’s biological sex at birth. At some point you may realize that this is outmoded, as we’ve—mostly—collectively realized about the other letters in the LGBTQ community. Good luck in that journey.

If I do my job, but do it in a way that doesn’t conform to my employer’s standards, I guess you could argue that I’m not “withholding a service,” but I’m not really doing my job, either, if you catch my drift. For example, my job involves providing a service to the community. If I provide that service but am demeaning and disrespectful to those I’m serving, I’m not withholding a service, but neither am I upholding the values of my organization or the terms of my employment.

One nuanced reading of 2018 results show (D) winning big running on ACA and background checks (among other progressive goals) while (R) giving up electoral ground by trying to defend :
    a) Trump
    b) Trump/Ryan tax cuts
    c) nativism
