Oh but I bet you have a lot of posts in the RUSSIA thread
And I can point you to lefty accounts who've been likewise dinged. I find this very much like your takes on campus speech and discrimination/oppression of white, male conservatives: overcooked, rigidly siloed, and broadly mistaken in their conclusions. Saying it louder or yelling at me for not addressing your pet issues on your terms and on your schedule doesn't improve your position.

Is it too early to talk about how a good guy with a gun stopped a school shooting? I'm going to guess this doesn't make it to rachel maddows show today.

Yes, a school resource officer, a person whose primary responsibility it is to protect the public, who is ideally trained and regularly topped-up in the appropriate and effective use of firearms--whom I have no problem being in a school--potentially averted a worse situation.

I'd rather live in a place where firefights in schools weren't on the menu.

Yeah. Leave it to thethe though to pull the argument all the way right just because.

Guarantee you most if not all here on the left agree with campus police having the ability to confront him.

Since police officers in theory are trained for this. The cowards in Parkland though. Different story.

And we should allow teachers who are comfortable to be trained to keep our kids safe.

I don't think that many cops, if we're honest, have appropriate proficiency and training when it comes to the use of deadly force. The idea that you want teachers to serve the same role, as a secondary responsibility, seems like a stretch.

We interrupt this gun-fetishist fantasy to remind you that the reason a

trained & capable police officer had to shoot & kill a child is because

the child was able to get a gun & bring it to school.

    Also:

The armed police officer's presence did not deter the child from doing so.
The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is to make sure he doesn’t get a gun.

Like the teacher in Dalton, TN who recently brought a gun to school during school hours and shot off a round?

Teachers do not need to carry guns nor should we ask them to. It creates more risk than it saves, IMO. The answer is more police presence in the schools.

My old math teacher had a concealed carry permit.

Why are we OK with him walking in a restaurant with a gun but not a school?

For that to happen the teacher was an idiot and should not be carrying. But mandatory training paid for my then school would eliminate that error.

    Like, how much training?

    And, "eliminate?"

Monthly and it would eliminate someone who mistakenly let out a round.

I promise you it would not. In numbers large enough to be significant...no way.

Why are the same people that say banning guns or gun laws won't work are the same people that love to point out when people inaccurately describe the gun being automatic and they proceed tell them the gun was semi-automatic cause laws are strict and it's really difficult to get an automatic weapon?
How can the restrictions on automatic weapons work and at the same time other restrictions can't be enforced/work?
