    A few?

All these approaches do nothing to stop the criminal acts. It just punishes legal responsible gun owners. Let’s be honest though. That’s the goal of your ilk.

I’m glad people on the left are acknowledging that if you tax something, you get less of it

    Progress

Bears repeating. Tax the bad, subsidize the good. Public finance 101. Common sense 101.

I use bullets to shoot hogs and deer. Both have large impacts on farming outputs. Would you tax my bullets?

If I were king, I’d tax Tapade’s bullets, but he’d still come out way ahead when he saw his income tax bill.

I might add that I believe that current jurisprudence on the 2nd amendment is incorrect.

The text of the 2nd amendment places gun ownership rights within the context of a well-regulated militia. Such militias are state organizations. The 2nd amendment in my view (which of course is the correct view) is meant to protect state rights to having an armed militia not individual rights to gun ownership.

The second amendment under my interpretation protects the states from federal regulations regarding guns and so forth. It limits what the federal government can do in this regard. But it does not limit what a state government can do. If a state decides that having thousands of semi-automatic weapons in circulation is not consistent with a well-regulated militia, it should be able to take them off the streets.

There is a case (both legal and practical) for letting each state regulate guns (and I might add other hot button issues like abortion) without much oversight from los federales. It would make for a big improvement in our politics and policy if the federal courts recognized this.

Leftists: guns are dangerous because people don't know how to handle

Also leftists: tax the **** put of ammo so that it ensures people can't practice

For some reason they can't connect this to the labor market

I don't know about leftists, but I'd rather subsidize work than tax it.

There are enough bad things we can tax: junk food, carbon emissions, etc, etc.

I fail to see how mandating a higher minimum wage is nothing short of a tax on labor to employers

Minimum wage is bad policy. There are much better ways, such as subsidizing work through the earned income tax credit or by increasing the child tax credit and making it refundable, to help poor people. The left uses minimum wage as a political football. It is popular so they have every incentive to keep pushing it. But it is bad policy.

I have a bow and arrow and am absolutely proficient at it. For deer it is my preferred method.

I didnt say it was sporting, its just the most effective way to do it. Hogs multiply faster than you can kill them off. I've used dogs, guns, knives, bow and arrows and traps. Still the problem persists.

We disagree. Minimum wage is an agreed to floor.
People working 2 jobs making $8/9.50 per hour don't need tax credits next April they need cash today.

You ideas are nice but ... but are not anywhere close to the everyday reality of low wage earners.

Getting back to inner city gun violence. Do we know the individuals doing the shooting and do we know their family histories.

Or just taking for granted they are products of broken homes, or obese or play video games.

Or like I suspect posters are just glamming on to age old right wing tropes of inner city life.?

Since family life is so important to people that have probably never even eaten lunch in an inner city.
What besides shaking you finger and scolding do you see as a path to improving the situation. That would accomplish the desired effect within say a generation or 2 ?

Aces has offered real solutions to these questions a dozen times.

You are not interested bc it does not involve more government power
