This is increased velocity over last year isn't it?

If so, I wonder if it just a product of him knowing he’s only going an inning or 2

Gohara has being a lefty going for him, but also possible health concerns. But if healthy I like them both a lot, I have always liked Soroka a lot. Hopefully they both stay healthy and come on strong this year.

It could be, but we'd have to see what he is averaging when going more than two innings. He has good stuff either way though.

The 2019 rotation will be fun to watch when it's Folty, CC Sabathia, Derek Lowe, Oliver Perez and whoever Wright becomes (probably Lackey or Strasburg).

I like to think of him as a young randy Johnson.

Got it. The 2019 rotation will be:

    Randy Johnson
    Justin Verlander
    CC Sabathia
    Derek Lowe
    John Lackey

Don't forget Mike Mussina waiting in AAA.

The Braves should be able to compete for at least a WC spot with that rotation producing 25-30 WAR.

With trout, altuve, FF, and Jeter leading the way on offense, we set

Don’t we have a glavine or Maddux somewhere down on the farm.

Oops, forgot about Allard and his 89 MPH fastball being the next Glavine.

I mean yeah...10 wins from Trout, 7 wins from Altuve, 6 wins from FF, and 6 wins from Jeter brings the total to 55+ wins just from the rotation and those 4 position players. Then add in 4 wins from Kevin Pillar, and that's a 105+ win team!!

If some other guys step up, the Braves could push the Mariners record of 116 wins as early as 2019, but more likely not until 2020.

Signing Machado and Blackmon will definitely help fill out the bottom of the line up. The Braves will easily be able to afford both with their Top 10 payroll because 20 million people will be eating dinner at The Battery every single year.

Liberty is the first owner of a major sports program to finance a new stadium and retail development for 36 months at 0% interest the way you would a brand new Honda Civic. Payroll may suck, but hey, at least we'll be debt free soon!

Hey, we're a media company that also owns Formula One and a baseball team that is now a real estate company. It's complicated.

Without a doubt. I think Luiz has incredible upside, but Soroka has the best chance to be a legit No. 1 or 2.
