Imagine a person touting himself as some sort of autodidact economic savant while simultaneously arguing the economy has been in a recession since day 1 of 2022. It's days like this when I'm happy to be aligned with the much-maligned class of people known as experts elitists and academics (EEA if y'all too lazy to spell out the whole damn thang).

It is larger than typical. But these rebenchmarks are often in the hundreds of thousands. For example, the BLS in August issued a preliminary estimate of the rebenchmark for March 2022, and for the private sector it was 571,000. Up 571,000. Was this a conspiracy on the part of the BLS to make the numbers look bad? Kinda doubt it.

Except the household survey doesn't get revised. Guess you didn't know that.

There are new seasonal adjustments each year, but the not-seasonally adjusted data stay the same.

I did know that. My post was saying the other survey was obviously wrong and would be revised after the election. Keep up, little guy

    Ok. I was confused then.

But the establishment survey IS rebenchmarked every year. It is not a conspiracy that causes this to happen. It is part of the process once more complete data become available.

Imagine thinking investing and having robust public transportation in this country means we're allowing the government to control our freedom of movement.
