Uh, a large number of people in this country have been living paycheck to paycheck for all of its history.

    If capitalism is so great,

why does it need to be bailed out

    by socialism every ten years?

The funny thing is acting like we have a capitalist system.

Yes, we enjoy more economic freedom than most countries, but that doesn't mean we are economically free

This crisis is obviously a tragedy. But it is also a very interesting natural experiment. We will be studying it and learning from it for a long time.

We will have hard data on which countries did best in flattening the curve. Which healthcare system produced the best outcome after adjusting for number of serious cases and their demographic makeup.

We will see a variety of approaches with respect to fiscal stimulus. It will be possible to tease out which ones produced best outcomes.

In trying to learn from all this, I hope it will be possible for people to put aside ideological preconceptions and take a hard look at the facts.

There will certainly be a Nobel prize award that comes out of this crisis. That’s for sure.

    government bailouts.
Certain you have worked in offices where it was posted "lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part ?"

    Cruise lines ?
    Airlines ?
    Hotels ?

and now we learn Whole Foods is having a sick in tomorrow with no doubt many more to follow
    Why ?

There was a time when unions were prepared to shoulder some of the load --- but they were taken apart
    Why?

My first and last guess has to do with voting blocs.
Putting the coffers in the hands of …. yeah you guessed it.
Cruise lines, hotels,Airlines etc etc etc

This latest brand of socio-economic engineering on the heals of a 2 year ago government hand out, has to have provisions banning the POTUS from profiting from this stimulus.
Think about that for a while

I am left to wonder, why a forced shutdown of , as of today only a few weeks, and the system is unable to survive ?
Why is our economic system so fragile and broken that it requires $2T infusion not every 10 years as the question so generously asked, but in this case, every 2 years?

I know when it comes to health care, food stamps, welfare etc the question is why aren't those people doing a better job of managing their money. Bootstraps or some other nonsense.

We haven't paid for the last corporate bailouts. Why are these business' so broken they NEED a socialistic response?

Whole bunch of questions - a dollar next to a do- nut - are all answered with questions.
