    It ain't gonna reduce carbon emissions, thats for sure

    wind, solar, nuclear...the path forward is there...the left needs to set aside its phobia about nuclear and the right its ideological opposition to progress

    I'm all for cleaner energy. I also see a freight train coming at the lower and middle class in the form of skyrocketing energy costs, while the affluent white liberals pushing all this tell us how we all need to sacrifice.

    If electricity rates skyrocket, demand for electric vehicles will be capped. Companies making promises to go all electric will have to backpedal blaming an inadequate electrical grid. I'm not putting too much stock in aspirational promises by car manufacturers.

    with an energy grid designed in the 1930's, you have a point.

    Delivering a major infrastructure plan would show that progressive economics, not Trumpist nationalism, offers an “approach to rebuilding the country in a way that lifts the fortunes of workers and promotes the common good.”

    Technology changes fast. I have the upmost faith that once the electric cars wars start up, Tesla and Apple will have batteries that last for 1000’s of miles.

    People don’t have faith in technological advances. That’s why I think the panic over climate change is foolish. We will have CO2 filters in 20 years that bring will erase climate change from everyone’s lexicon.

    This isn't a large enough tax increase, but I support Senator Warren's Ulta-Millionaire Tax Act as a positive first step. I think adding a 100% tax on all PAC donations is also in order.

    Infrastructure shouldn't be partisan. Investing in infrastructure intelligently will result in more revenue in the long run than it costs.

    The problem is what infrastructure to invest in. It usually just ends up being pet projects.

    What we need are more arterial roads in major cities, bridges over bodies of water that impede movement (Chesapeake Bay I'm looking at you), overhauling the power grid, improving reservoirs, etc.

    I saw multiple bike lanes built with the last infrastructure bill. It was ridiculous.

    multiple bike lanes are a thing, what is the problem there ?
    In our city they are very functional where many people bike to and from work and use them on weekends for recreation
    My fear is we allow our selves under the guise of responsible spending to wind up living in 1960's Soviet bloc world where only basic function is funded

    and we agree it should be non partisan, but everybody got an idea
    ////

    If you and I were crafting an infrastructure bill of the ho hum bridges and access roads etc and I was steadfast on bike lanes, what would be your counter offer?

    Of course there would be tax increases to fund
    /////

    My infrastructure bill would also contain art on city walls , gardens in public areas and other quality of life expenditures
    Key there is quality of life. It does say after all, Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Nothing about fiscal responsibility

    The dems are passing a relief bill that is 1,000% of Jeff Bezos entire net worth,and that is resulting in $1,400 for adults who make less than $80k.

    But somehow unconstitutionally raising taxes on a few billionaires is gonna make the government efficient and make a difference for anyone?

    One of my biggest gripes with the Obama administration (especially the first one) was that I wanted him to put the Pickens Plan into effect or at least something similar to it. Use our natural resources, oil, natural gas, wind, and solar, depending on which part of the country we're talking about, while we work on something better, something more sustainable. Sadly we did neither and we continue to let the oil companies, Wall Street and a few other big money conglomerates sport-pfark us daily while we get absolutely no closer to being able to take care of ourselves.

    Yeah, except your friends only want to do certain parts of that. They just tell you the rest so you'll believe them. If you were to put them to the test you'd be able to see through them.
