You are likely right but I don't think one inning is enough to make that declaration.

Why would you think that this statement was based on one inning?

I think Folty would thrive in the closer’s role.

because it came in an inning in which he struggled. in his 3 starts so far he's been at a 2-3 war pace

I do as well. His stuff is perfectly set for it. He’s a solid starter either way, in my opinion, but he could be a dominant closer.

I don't see it. He struggles to put hitters away and has spotty control. He'd be an incredibly frustrating closer.

He's been lucky in every one of those games. When folty throws a strikes it's an accident 50% of the time.

You talk about his bad control all the time, but the dude only has a career 3.1 BB/9. Why do you have more confidence in Newcomb who's BB/9 is way worse?

Newcomb hits the glove or is near the glove much more consistently than folty. It's not even close.

people trying to get rid of Tucker. Screw that. Leave Tucker, add Acuna and subtract Markakis. Thank him for his service to the team and peace out

The problem with Folty is very simple and it still has nothing to do with what any of the Atlanta media hammers on. His fastball isn't what it's cracked up to be, and all of his other pitches aren't good enough to be out pitches. He doesn't make good enough pitches with off speed for it to work for him.

He is what he is, and he's very unlikely to get better at this point. The Braves thought they could turn him into a late blooming Max Scherzer 2.0 and instead they have a less efficient Nathan Eovaldi.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

I'd like to see if they can have folty focus even more on a less exaggerated follow through
