I’ve been on the Riley train since he was drafted. We all knew he had the pop but now he’s showing he can do other things to. If Riley continues to do this all year and ends the season with a bang then that is huge for this team going into next year bc LF will be our only real hole with a lot of money to spend.

Do you know of any site that shows projected pitchers for minor league teams? I think I worked out that Jaseel De La Cruz is starting for Rome on Sunday, but it would be nice to be able to find it somewhere instead of writing the pitchers for the last few games on the back of a napkin to determine who it is.

No. I think aa has been clear. He is not rushing guys. I think he will do one level per year as the minimum.
Riley is still very young. I think he will do a full year in aaa
I see no reason Riley can't earn a promotion to AAA this year. When the BABIP drops, and subsequently his production, we should be looking for his BB rate to stay in the 9% range and his K rate to stay in the low 20s. As long as those numbers stay in line with expectations, it doesn't really matter what his BABIP or OPS end up being in AA (within reason, of course).
Decision makers in modernized FOs are not concerned with his OPS when determining promotions, that's for sure. They are looking at swing rates, contact rates, exit velocities, launch angles, and other data that directly measure player skill. These are all data we don't have access to for minor leaguers, unfortunately, but the teams do.
Once he's in AAA he's an option for the MLB team. I'm sure he's an option for early 2019, which is why they didn't sign another option at 3B this year.
