I'm not questioning the sprint speed, but it may be possible that he's not going all out at all times.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

He's clearly fast. But do you think this only applies to Acuna?

The varying numbers on Acuna will get answered in this next week or so. I think its pretty clear that he has somewhere in between 60 grade and 70 grade speed.

I honestly don’ t care if Acuna is a 50 a 60 or a WD-40 but I again wonder whether averaging speed is the best measure. If that’s how they do it even.

No objection the the idea there are faster players who put up faster isolated times. I doubt Acuna is the fastest player in baseball given he didn’t really have that reputation.

    He’s probably plenty fast though.

They take the top 2/3's though.

seems obvious to me Acuna is still pouting and not running as hard as he can

hope he enjoys his off day in the big apple

He'll have his ups and downs but I'm encouraged by his early patience and confident that when he hits it, it stays hit. I'm sorely tempted to call him Andruw with a flatter learning curve.

The most glaring thing is that plate discipline. He identifies spin quickly and can distinguish between the fastball and offspeed early.

If any mother****ers break this man's jaw, we're gonna fight. I don't mean me and that pitcher, I mean the whole board and that pitcher.

Tell that to every hitter on our team's wrist/hand.

We've been lucky on that this year so far.

All you whippersnappers might not appreciate this, but he really doesn't favor Andruw as much as he does a young Willie Mays.

i might be most impressed by his approach so far. he's not free-swinging. idk when we can start looking at his swing %s to get a good idea, but he definitely seems to have a good idea of what he's seeing.

idk how he was even k-ing the way he was in the minors. was definitely pouting.
