As a good reminder to avoid quantity over quality trades, peak a gander at Alfaro, Nick Williams and Jake Thompson who were the main parts of the Cole Hamels trade. All of those guys are below replacement level players.

That’s an unfair criticism to make of Amaro because we don’t know what was on the table, but through the Braves bad quantity trades I feel like I’m always going to hate teams that settle for that.

Yup. Doesn't always work out but I always go for the single best prospect you can get.

That’s what I think too. That’s been the perception of their farm the past few years as well. It has a lot of depth, but lacks elite upside. Even Nola and Hoskins are basically good prospects realizing the 90 percentile of their ceiling.

They have also done a poor job capitalizing on their top picks as well. Moniac is a 45 FV guy and Adam Haseley has been mediocre as well.

Luckily for them they have a war chest of money to fill in holes. They will be in on all of the top tier free agents the next couple of years.

Hoskins has star level ability on offense. Odoubel and Hernandez have already shown to be 3-4 WAR players.
