Touki Toussaint doesn't get enough recognition.

I think this young man has a chance to be a very good pitcher for us.

    AA at age 20: 7 starts, 39.2 IP, 3.69 FIP, 9.98 K/9, 4.99 BB/9, .276 BABIP, 70.3% LOB.

    AA at age 21: 5 starts, 24.1 IP, 3.42 FIP, 12.21 K/9, 4.44 BB/9, .304 BABIP, 61.6% LOB.

Great time to be a Brave.

Sadly, something Touki and I have in common on this board.

Touki has terrible command, period. Difference is, and something I certainly seem to forget about him quite a bit for some reason, is that he is still only 22.

Guys like Newk and Fried are past the age where they are likely to markedly improve their command, but Touki is not. He should not be lumped in that group yet.

He still has 1-2 more seasons until we need to start worrying about his poor command being terminal.

He's so much projection and because he's not Soroka he will always be about the tools he possesses versus his results. Finally got a look at him other than Rome. Gotta say he had improved so much. Even then his defense was miserable behind him. If it were all about ERA you could write him off bullpen fodder, but I feel he should start until he can't. I like Touki a great deal.

Touki's the type of player I could see us trading away as a part of a deal and regret when he goes on to have a great career.

The comp I use for Touki is Tom Gordon. Good fastball and a curve so nasty it fools umpires as well as hitters. If he has a career like Gordon I'd be very pleased.

Prospect fatigue. He is still very up and down though. One day he is lights out and the next day getting torched.

He could be a stud closer. I’m afraid he will remind us of Viz....who makes me nervous every time he comes in (because you never know what Viz shows up each day).

Think of a pen that has Minter, Touki, and Weigel...it’s coming.

    And Fried.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Weigel seemed to me to be the most likely of that first wave to succeed as a starter. Think he might have succeeded but for injury.

Wouldn’t have pigeonholed him as a reliever.

Yes. But to bravos point. Weigel might be the best of the bunch. True miller type role

Weigel is one of my favorite prospects. I haven't given up on his as a starter. When will he throw again?

Probably not this year. Didn’t he get it last June.

It will all boil down to command with him. If he sharpens things up, he has a pretty high ceiling. I like the Gordon comp except Toussaint is a lot bigger physically. Like striker42, I think if he can be a facsimile of Gordon, that would be pretty awesome.
