How much do I like him exactly?

Prospects sites valued him very positively coming into the season. Where do you think he will be after his performance so far?

Bryce Wilson is just a stud. I think he's my favorite minor leaguer now that Soroka has moved up.
    Go get him!

If he sustains it he'll move up. That's part of why I want to see him work through a league for a year and deal w/ the grind and seeing pitchers multiple times.

I don't think he's a unanimous top 100 guy. HE's on 2/3 of them? I would like to see more scouts praise the D. I'd like to see more scouts say he handles premium velocity well. I'd like to see him mash and take the walks when pitchers pitch around him.

Last year we started to see more scouts move off of bad defense into solid defense at 3B. Will most of them call him average to plus? Will anyone say plus D at 3B? We had some say the bat speed issue was a mechanical issue, not bat speed....will that be the consensus by the end of the year?

And being a top 50 prospect in AA or AAA at 20 does not mean that you hold open a spot for next year. I still think people need to remember it is unusual for 20 and 21 y/o to be ready for MLB. Especially power hitters.

He's the guy I don't get where the love is.

He has the results. He has the gun numbers. I think the scouting reports still seem to favor relief pitcher.

But with all the pitching they might want to be slow. If you push him to AA and he repeats it next year, does it seem like he's stagnant for helium?

I was just about to post this. Honestly I'm not expecting much this year and that is fine.

It's hard to shed a label once it gets put on you.

Wilson was labeled a fastball/slider guy with little projection so he got a reliever label. The addition of an average change-up and stellar results isn't going to change that quickly. Might not change it ever as Weigel made similar strides with adding another pitch and was similarly dominant all the way to AAA and many still talk about him as a reliever (in fairness after TJ that might be where he ends up).
