They used medlen last night and signed buckholz today. They are obviously desperate for starters. Think we could dangle a starter to them? Do they have a prospect we could use?

Idk. They only have 2 guys on the MLB.com top 100 prospects list - Pavin Smith and Duplantier. Maybe flip them Sanchez for one of their lesser prospects?

Yea, they have some interesting position players in the B-range, but I’m not sure who the Braves would trade that could even entice those guys. I’d think Sanchez would have to show more, and he’s relegated to long-relief at the moment; I doubt they’d want Julion, given their park and his fly-ball tendencies; McCarthy could be a fit, but I like the stability he affords the Braves’ rotation, provided he remains healthy; and I’m of the belief that this sort of trade would be selling-low on Foltynewicz, though he’s the only other fit I see.

I wonder if they’ve given up on Socrates Brito enough that they’d trade him for an unproven Sanchez, and/or another change-of-scenery guy like Wisler. Probably not, since he’s hitting well in Reno this year (albeit with an unsustainable babip, garbage bb%, and very limited power in a hitter-friendly park/league)—but he has a great name and would make a good reserve OF in Cobb County.
