I definitely expected more out of Wright, despite the small number of innings.

Seriously though, Anderson’s control issues seemingly sprung up out of nowhere. I don’t remember anyone worrying about his control when he was drafted or early in his pro career.
    According the Kiley:

“A combination of corralling his rising velocity along with minor-league umpires has impacted his walk figures. Expect that to be fixed sooner than later. Otherwise, his main concerns are the consistency of his offspeed stuff and remaining healthy.”

So much for AA not rushing guys. Riley has like 50 more PAs in AA than Acuna did.

Neither one of them has done anything to particularly make anyone worry.

It’s not supposed to be easy and they both are showing plenty.

    This is a fair observation.

However much he actually wants to hold to that statement, it definitely was the right rhetoric to temper expectations, among both players and fans, off-the-bat. Hell, recall how many on these boards were fairly incensed that Riley didn’t start the season in AAA.

I’m wanting to hear more on him. Especially defense. Hitting on him would be huge

    Exactly

Maybe he wants to boost those hr numbers for the archer/fulmer trade

Sss but milb is more about scouting than results. He’s had the results but they must feel this is best

Need him to be a 2 at least.

So far I’m concerned. I have no doubt he can be a 4 right now. We have 20 guys like that. We need some tor

Admire that you guys are still digging into your riley isn't all that despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.

Good to see Anderson put a couple starts together where walks haven't been a problem. Hopefully he keeps it up. Still think his ceiling is as a number 3 but that's better than marginal player if he can't improve his control.

Where are you even seeing this?

And I’d like citations and explanations, because I feel like quite often you imagine or invent slights (against favored players) to then manufacture and justify otherwise-unwarranted defensiveness and outrage.

Looks like Riley's first AAA PA will be vs tomshaw. He's a 29-year-old rhp with a huge era

Do I really need to dig up old posts to remind people that many on here have scoffed at the fact of rile being a good major leaguer? I don't play that game and it's equivalent to demanding someone bet money on a statement. The record is clear and everyone on this board knows it.

What the heck does what people said last year or in previous years about Riley have to do with anything you said in this particular thread? Many people have questioned Riley's bat speed and defense in the past, including myself. Hopefully he continues to prove those of us that doubted him wrong.

But you made a comment that people were dogging Riley right now, not in the past. That's simply you throwing out victim comments with no basis.

As a fellow prospect hound, I'm usually somewhere with you thethe, but Riley absolutely has to continue to prove people wrong. I've seen him and haven't opined much. I like him and believe he is legit, but the posts I've seen have been those trying understand who he is.
