Lately Wright seems to pitch fairly well and then get tired at around 80-90 pitches. Almost interested in seeing what's going on just from curiosity, but since I'm cheap I'm not getting milb.tv again.
Almost certainly going to end up being a 4 runs or worse game again (and I hope I'm jinxing it for him).
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
Riley finishes 1-5 with a single, fly out and three strikeouts.
Wright seems ro be more Touki than Touki lately
Yup...peripherals like him more than the actual results too. Not much you can do really but hold vigil...he actually struggled to start the college season last year, too before flipping the switch. Just sucks some because the last SEC collegian the Braves drafted absolutely laid waste to the Southern League from the getgo. It's impossible to compare to that.

Agreed. His numbers on the year aren't bad at all. I wish he allowed fewer hits so far, but that can be fluky and I'm not overly worried in 31 innings. The strikeouts are good, ground balls are fine. I do wish he'd walk less, especially with the polished college pitcher reports on him when he was drafted.
I'm just waiting on that first dominant pro outing. He still hasn't really come close to having one, and that's why I've been underwhelmed so far this year.
He's walking a bit too many right now and that is being combined with a little bid of bad luck.
He'll be fine.
Can't imagine many would argue with that, but it's probably time to start stepping it up if his uninspiring outings aren't strictly attributable to something specific they're having him work on. If his lack of dominance at that level is on him rather than working on something in particular, I'm not so sure he's in the group of "untouchables" if a big deal arises and he has to be included to make it happen.
AA's been understandably patient to this point (and rightfully so), but with so many answers already in place (and not getting younger and cheaper) - Freeman, Albies, Acuna, Inciarte, at least 2-3 rotation spots - and some of the young talent beginning to distinguish themselves (Riley, Pache, Allard, Wilson, etc.), you have to figure he's starting to get a bit restless and ready to make something happen that starts putting his stamp on the franchise.
It just feels like a big move isn't nearly as far away as it was a couple months ago and that some kind of move is fairly imminent at this point. I certainly have no idea what it's going to be - as always seems to be true of his big deals - but do feel like something's going to happen by the deadline.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
Are we expecting Wright to show up and immediately just mow down batters on his way to becoming an ace?
He’s pitching pretty well in AA. Not phenomenal but certainly not bad. And he’s still only thrown, what, 25 innings?
He’s fine.
