It's getting to be about the time where the Braves have to make the Wilson-for-position-player swap on the 25 man roster.

If we see someone like Rio picked up from AAA we can probably close the book on Murphy. The good news is Murphy is almost certainly in DC right now, so he can be in Pitt quickly.

I bet the AAA guy who represents the contingency plan is already in Pitt just in case.

Well, the Cards had higher waiver priority than the Braves.

The Braves had higher priority than the Cubs, but they likely couldn't afford to take on Murphy's remaining $3M salary, so they couldn't risk claiming him. It's a little surprising to see the Braves constrained so tightly by payroll with attendance easily surpassing whatever their projections must have been.

It will be a little disappointing to see a AAA guy called up to replace Wilson today.
