Phillies want both Britton and Machado. IF they get both it will be hard to win the division.
Jerry crasnick says that we have made an offer to the Os for Machado but we are on the fringes if interested teams and are more focused on upgrading our rotation
Get off my lawn!
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
I think this winter is the time to go for it.
More money to play with, and a full year to understand who to trade, etc. And whoever wins the NL is getting their ass kicked in the WS by the AL.
I dont think Philly has the system for Britton and Machado but thats alot to pay for a slim chance to win the NL.
I know the break is on the way, but is Viz going to be able to stay healthy at all for the rest of this year? Back on the DL, so I think a high leverage RP jumps out at you for the deadline. Keone Kela, or specifically the Braves actually scouted Joe Jimenez.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
Even with the latest on Viz I don't think a high leverage guy is a high priority.
I'd shift Biddle to a high leverage role. I'd go with a pen that looked like this:
1-3. Minter, Winkler, Biddle as the high leverage guys
4. Situational lefty to be acquired
5. Carle situational righty/long man
6. Moylan situational right
7. Freeman long man
8. Jackson sacrificial lamb
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
I see situational lefty and reinforcement of left side of the infield as the main priorities
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."

Looks like Machado to the Dodgers. Names being thrown out are Diaz and May going back to the Orioles among others. Super steep price if true. Our equivalent is maybe Waters and Bryce Wilson?
