I like the idea of trading with the Os.

I would have been in favor of the Braves giving them a package comparable to what they got for Machado. Money likely played a role in not getting him.

Cross another one off the board.

I think there’s a chance we do nothing.
We'll make a move but dont think we go haywire for anything.

At most, maybe Britton but not as desperate as other clubs.

Britton and familia would've made us pretty strong. No idea what this duo would've cost, but it would make us pretty dynamic pen wise

i think another SP might be a bigger need than a RP, but they would have for sure.

Something along the lines of Wisler and Ynoa is what I'm thinking with them picking up some of his remaining salary.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Braves set their sites a little lower than Britton, but it’s great seeing them as legit buyers at the deadline.

I'd rather take my chances on Fried or Gohara than Hamels.

I would think so. Very unlikely the O's get more than a FV 45 prospect, and Wisler is more valuable than that, imo. Guess it depends if the O's value the prospects further away but with a higher ceiling or MLB ready pitcher who's likely only a back end starter.

Kinda think AA shoots lower, but if I'm giving up an additional prospect I'd want a window to try to negotiate an extension with Britton to get a jump on this winter. Even if you don't get him now, aren't he and Doolittle your top targets this offseason? If you're a believer that Camargo and Riley can be the answer at 3B, maybe even go Rockies-nuts and add one of them AND Ottavino to try to build a "super pen" with Britton/Doolittle, Viz, Minter, Ottavino, Winkler, Biddle, Carle/Phillips, and Freeman.

Donaldson's price has to come down after another lost year, and if you could add he and Britton or Doolittle this team has to be mentioned as a legitimate contender next spring with a healthy Soroka and Gohara added to the rotation and Fried, Allard, Wright, and Touki percolating in Gwinnett.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

I agree. One of the guys we have been talking about is more likely: Claudio, Avilan, Loup, etc.

    But Britton is intriguing.

Only cost A's 17th and a non top 30 prospect and some international money for Familia, doesnt seem like much.
