Possibly McCarthy. Soroka is debatable as well since he is a rookie and could hit a wall later in the year.

I was wondering the same...he is a better bet than Bautista

Defense is still strong (already 0.7 defensive fwar in limited action); walk-rate still solid (10 bb%); babip (.188) that’s likely to trend way up, even if it doesn’t reach the .310-.340 range in which he’s usually hit throughout his career; power that should rebound, to a degree at least, away from Petco. If he’d be willing to start off with a AAA assignment (maybe playing 1B initially, in deference to Riley), it seems like it’d represent a worthwhile investment in corner depth.

Beltre or Donaldson would be a huge boost to the team at the break. Find another good bullpen arm and we are in business.

    I'm here.

McCarthy was really good until the last two starts. He's a good pitcher when healthy. He has an affordable option. He's a really good piece. I would want to let him play to the back of his baseball card and then look to move him when he's healthy and pitching well. I wouldn't push it. But if he's healthy near the all star break then I'd look to move him.

3B is clearly where the upgrade potential is.

Bullpen could always be better but I'm not putting real assets into a deal for the most volatile assets in MLB. I do think we have some options in the minors who could improve that group.

If we had a legit 3B then this team looks pretty dang good. Not WS good b/c we do not have top of the line pitching. But challenge for the playoffs and maybe get to the playoffs good.

We dont' need a masher at third to get to the playoffs. Just role with defense. We are getting so much out of the rest of the team that we can deal with 'average' production offensively at the hot corner. If Beltre falls into our lap then great but I don't see it as a difference maker considering I think we are playing in the WC game this year.

I don't want a masher at third to make the playoffs I want a masher at third to win the playoffs.

Pitching needs another year before we are ready to win the world series.

A team that is hitting Markakis 4th and Inciarte 5th can probably use a little offensive help for when some of the hot streaks end.

This is exactly why teams fail in the postseason.

The Braves are better than expected. The Braves have a legit chance at the playoffs. The Braves have a gaping hole at 3B. Several options are available to plug that gaping hole at 3B.

    Fix 3B.

If an option falls into our lap then I'm all for it. I'm not giving up legitimate long term assets when I don't believe our pitching is good enough to win.

I'm more than fine with getting to a WC game this year and losing out. Who knows - We could win that game and play an actual series. There is not one fan that should be upset with this season if we are at the very least playing important games late September.

If Bautista was worth a shot, Headley us unquestionably worth a shot as well.

A legit playoff run now will do more for next season and beyond than keeping whatever prospects it takes to get Beltre, Mous, or anyone not named Machado for 3B.

I'd like to see Mouse or Beltre here. Mouse is playing for a contrat and Beltre could have a chance to play in his last playoff game if we make it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a closer like Iglesias or Hand. I'm not sure they'd trade Hand after just extending him though.

There are some pitchers struggling that migt be more attractive the closer we get to the deadline like Duffy, Archer, and Fulmer.

Whatever happens 3B, SP, and Closer/ late inning reliever or the positions I think we need to add if the right deal is there.

Nobody is arguing to give up a ton

The point is 3b is bad
    Braves are good
There are not a lot of other teams looking for a 3b.

Moustskis might be guys like Peterson demeritte Ruiz

Moose seems like a very plausible target. What reason does KC have to hold onto him?
