Not sure why people are shocked. Money is flush right now in baseball. Mac is going to get a big deal.

Glad we have Gattis/CB on the horizon.

Watching him struggle in playoffs, already feeling that McCann has left the building.

Exactly. I'm curious where his hitting stats line up against DH's in the american league

Good for him. I still think it will be from Texas. I think McCann's hitting will improve getting to DH a few times a week. Catching takes a lot out of the body. If the Braves had the DH to use then maybe they would re-sign him but its really best for the Braves and for McCann to go to an AL team that can let him DH part time. The Braves will get similar production from Gattis to what McCann would put up as a Brave. Lower OBP but higher slugging %. Maybe when Brian gets done with his big payday contract he can come back from a year or two at the end of his career.

Not totally out of the question, but it would have to be from a deep pocketed team in the AL because 6 years from now McCann isn't catching.

Hope we see him in the World Series some day (vs Atlanta, of course).

A lot of people think Texas, but I can easily see Boston. Rossy is there, Salty is a FA, and that clubhouse seems like one Mac would fit in just fine. They have the money too and plugging him into that lineup just makes them that much better.

The Yankees also could use a catcher. Just takes one team to go mad. See Jayson Werth-Washington Nationals.

I never really understood why anyone thought he would come back. I don't even think the Braves would sign him to a discount. Its time to move on. Mac will still have really good years but its time.

Well, if your not going to resign the guy, at least promote him and help him get paid.

MLBTR shows Yankees as having interest in Beltran. That'd correct the past mistakes of sticking with Bernie Williams for too long and then messing around with that clown, Swisher. Even the Yankees have budgetary constraints these days. So, if this is true, it'd be a shock if they went for 2 Type-A FA's.

Depending if they keep Cano, I could see them do what the Red Sox did and sign a bunch of guys to 1-3 yr deals. Beltran would be a good fit, could DH too.

Yeah, Jay-Z may soon find out that there aren't many potential suitors for Cano at the current asking price.
