Viz should not pitch with less than a 10 run lead.

I don't think there is much of a difference between the two. Ideally you want your best pitcher against their best hitters in a late game

5 out of 6 after the Giants debacle. Nice rebound on what could have sent the team into a lull.

I fail to see how you don't see a difference between Winkler and Viz. Yeah, Viz throws harder, but Winkler seems to beat him in almost every other category. Obviously "closer" is a relative term these days, but Winkler should get the high leverage innings for this team. He's our best reliever.

difference between the 8th and 9th. I don't think there is any added pressure.

If we make the playoffs, finally we have a guy like Ender who won't roll over and take it. Rah Rah guy we could have used 2010-2013.

Definitely gonna be a guy in a 5 game series that sparks the team.

I guess my point is that Winkler should be the go to high leverage reliever whenever we need him. Viz should fall back to the secondary level with Minter.

He's pitched great but has 35 career innings in the majors. They aren't going to pull the plug on Viz as a closer in a situation like this.

The only thing I'm torn on is we keep winning road games with the ugly navy blue roads. I need those classic road grays to feel the nostalgia again.

I'll feel good if we can go 4-4 in our 8 games against the Red Sox, Cubs, and Nats. For the 10 games against the Phillies, Marlins, and Mets I think we should be able to win at least 6 or 7 of those. Going 9-9 would be fine to close out the month, but I think 11-7 or something like that is doable.

    Worrisome.

But meanwhile, Acuña’s PAs were very encouraging today, even if sans much flash.
