    Yup. This.

There are some plays, like the ball trapped against the screen into the catcher's mitt, which are given an almost absurd amount of scrutiny.

Then plays which actually can be determined, definitively, aren't given the same treatment and ultimately tossed into the "not clear evidence" heap.

There's no consistency and it's really frustrating to watch.

The purpose of the replay is to get it right under the rules set forth.. the rule is if the replay doesn't show enough evidence, then the call on the field stands. If you don't like that, then I will agree with you. But that play was a tie and therefore the call needs to stand.. if he was called safe, it would not have been overturned. If that was a Miami runner and they over turned that, everyone would still be bitching here. Take the tomahawk off the chest and you can clearly see that it was essentially a tie...

Combine ridiculous bad luck with even more ridiculous officiating and you get a shutout.
You can check statcast on BABIP for games I think, I'm not sure how though but to my eyes it was EXACTLY like the weekend series with the Giants the last home weekend series. Maybe not as bad but close. I'll try to delve in and see if I can dig it up.

Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Camargo has been so disappointing. He had a golden opportunity to show what he had and face planted.

The technology is so good that they can freeze it and eliminate ties. Freeze it at the right moment, and it becomes clear and convincing. I guess I didn't see the question on this one, or a couple of others over the past week or so. The cumulative effect of multiple costly replay rulings has started to wear on me.

They have the technology to get it right.

Before tonight's 1-3, he was hitting .193, but BABIP was .220. His obp was .343 though

He hasn’t been good, but he sat on the bench for the first month waiting for regular abs.

Still think he’s the temporary answer at third

When Dansby is activated, it has to be one of Bautista or Culberson who is gone. I just can’t imagine any other way to do it unless they send Wisler back down. Even then, you’d need another reliever at some point soon since Gohara likely starts Wednesday.

I'd slide em to 3b once we activate dansby tomorrow. Give camargo a good month of play

    It's not BABIP, but....

    https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamef..._hand=&filter=

Pretty fitting that the hardest hit ball by Braves hitters, ends the game (poor LA though lol). I can't get it to work correctly but multiple high HP% in plays were outs for the Braves today.

It makes me wonder what would have happened if that one Flower at bat had been called ball four like it should of. We would have had bases loaded with no outs with Inciarte coming up.

that would have helped.. but Ender didn't look great and Joey Bust was still lurking.

You don’t need Statcast, BABIP is pretty easily calculated.
