Unclear to me why folks think the Nats are going anywhere.

Big market and plenty of elite young talent/prospects.

Atlanta will need to be smart and find some more met to spend to keep up with Nats and Phillies. Should be a strong division for years to come.

Depending on how they choose to play it the Mets can still be dangerous.

Mets would be smart to rebuild imo.

Not alot of young talent, and the Braves/Phillies have alot of young talent on the team, horizon soon.

Regarding the Nats, their farm doesnt have alot of pitching and who knows how much longer Scherzer is gonna stay pitching at a top 5-SP level. After this year, Murphy, Gonzalez, Harper, Madson, and some others are FA's, but they should still field a pretty good team if they lose some/most of those guys.

If I were the Mets I’d be thinking what I could get for what pieces I had. Seem way off on the hitting.

The league will adjust to the 19 year old and he will most likely struggle (no matter how good he is). He will likely be a great player, but I don’t see him helping them that much this year (especially if they make it to the playoffs when it counts). Not a smart move...desperate.
