Touki now at 11.8 K/9, 3.93 BB/9, and 3.14 FIP on the year

Interesting to note that had Touki gone to college he would of been in the same draft class as Wright. Both are in AA and he's clearly out pitching Wright so far. Just something to keep in mind for those (myself included) that have some prospect fatigue regarding Touki.

He might've experienced an uptick in recent MLB seasons, but I saw Morton pitch in AA against the Birmingham Barons - he most definitely threw hard in the minors. In fact, his raw stuff was exceptional. He simply lacked the mental constitution to dominate MLB hitters back in those days

This is not true. Maybe he hasn't been an uber prospect since he's been in the minor leagues, but without the back issues in his senior year Allard would have been a consensus top5 pick, and probably in the discussion for 1-1...of course, that was coming off the strength of a PG outing where he was hitting 96. That was the only day he ever had that velo, ever...but scouts see it once and they dream on it for a while.

My good friend is a high-ranking scout (not in Braves org) and this was his text to me on draft day in 2015: "Braves probably stole the best LH pitcher in this year's class at pick 14...you should be ecstatic w/ this pick"

I've been really big on Fried and Touki the last couple years, so this is really exciting to see. Touki's upside is just so big that it's hard to not get pumped about his future.

I still think Fried could be a good 2-3, but we aren't really giving him any opportunities. lol

    Yup.

Of all the guys with control problems, it's easiest to forget how young Touki is. He is definitively still young enough that his control can markedly improve.

Go look at the LHPs drafted that year...not exactly the highest of praise.

It's unfortunate...I look at someone like Tom Glavine and wonder if he could have succeeded in this baseball era.
is allard going to get a plate 3 inches wider than everyone else like glavine?
