Perhaps getting back to playing the NL will help us. Two positive things I can say about the game is that Acuna and Dansby have looked better today.

But this is going to be a sweep (if you thought Newcomb was bad, Folty is going to get his butt absolutely whupped tomorrow) and the Braves are about to face more good starting pitching against New York and Washington. This is about to be a big slump that erases all good done.
This is baseball. Folty could very well go out there and out pitch Chris Sale tomorrow.

Did you see the YNOT questions. After that putrid display in Philly, there is no way we win Boston with the pitching we had coming up. Teheran did better than expected, Newcomb bombed like I thought he would and no telling on other pitchers. We are becoming a pumpkin but I wish it was later. We will probably not be in 1st place after this series. We dont have a good manager and Seitzer is pissing me off on coaching the batters. Too many k's looking.

Danger zone? We’re still in first last time I checked. You realize that virtually all teams suck for stretches during a 162 game season, right?

And I’m not one who ever thought they’d make the playoffs.

We crap on Newcomb's command, but Folty has a major problem despite pitching well this year, no one is swinging at his secondaries. They're not good enough to swing at. He's benefitted from bad teams himself.

So he's most likely going to get waited out tomorrow, exactly like Newcomb. Maybe I end up being wrong, but I'll be shocked if I'm not.

And wait, New York is just pitching their rotation with the DH? Hmmm. Braves have been able to get to Thor though.

    Props Acuna.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Acuna 3-5 today with a homer. No strikeouts either.

The nats will win the division going away. For us to stay in 1st we would have to keep our torrent pace. We are slowing down big time... so yeah, here come the nats

Looking at the mets probable pitchers, I think the Braves lose the deGrom game and people get furious again and then can win the rest.

That HR by Acuna was super impressive. He was off balance and just muscled the ball out the other way.

That’s because the point I’m making clearly went way over your head. It has nothing to do with us making the playoffs. Let me know when you figure it out.

Did anyone not think the Nats would win the division?

They're probably the best team in the NL when healthy, thanks Magic Johnson.

The Braves are a year ahead of where they should be, 2019 on is when they were expected to be really good, and thats looking likely even if the Braves falter.

It's also why i'd probably not make any big trades and waste assets in a year that wouldnt turn into much.

Look...we have overachieved to this point. We are better than expected and that’s great!! We aren’t quite the Astros, etc...but we are getting there. Next year will be the year to contend.

This year we will likely make the playoffs which is great. We just aren’t quite to that top level yet, but we are getting experience. That’s why I don’t want to make the big trades this year, when next year is when it really begins.

Who knows, as the young guys get experience...we just might overachieve in the playoffs also.
