The fact that Acuna is still hitting in the 2nd spot tells me that the coaching staff thinks he's close to busting out. I hope they're right.

Or they finally realized they can’t predict who has the “hot hand” or who is about to “bust out” and continue to bat their best 4 hitters in the top half.

    Just a guess though.

More like, there's no good option with rearranging the chairs ATM unless someone tells Snit to have Markakis bat leadoff, as Ender is pitcher caliber bad against left handers.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

I know you aren't big on batting order, but wouldn't it make more sense to bat markakis leadoff, albies 2nd, and FF third? Get markakis' obp in front of our 2 power guys, and also break up the lefty lefty of FF and markakis with a really good rhh in albies.

    That's a possibility.

Albies is a sh and it doesn't seem like teams buy him yet as when he was in between Ender/Freeman teams weren't switching out their lefty even though he's dangerous against them.

Albies is starting to walk more but in that at bat he had a bad swing against a high fastball and then had a bad call.

Even better then, bring in that lefty to let him hit rh... .926 ops vs lhp and .773 ops vs rhp

ETA... that was last season stats. Here's career splits: vs rhp, .774 ops vs lhp, 1.082 ops

Nick and Freeman have been fine on this trip as well but their power has been gone.

This is probably better than leaving breakers in the zone but if he's going to be wild like he often is Boston is going to leave the bat on their shoulders and let him walk people.

Still struck out two, to be fair. If that infield hit was an out we’re thinking Newcomb was dominant

Boston should already know that he’s wild, so it would be weird for them to change their approach just because he’s confirmed it
