If newcomb got that first strike vs Flowers, newcomb would be unhittable

Boston should already know that he’s wild, so it would be weird for them to change their approach just because he’s confirmed it
    Yep.

Just continuing to say what I was afraid of because of how patient Boston can be. Probably gotta be happy with 5 good innings from him today. If its not in the zone outside of really young hitters like Devers (is he even in though?) it's likely not going to be swung at today.

The JD Martinez walk isn't bad though.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

This offense reminds me of the last few years. Hope we didn't peak at the beginning and it all downhill from there

I did not expect Swanson to be playing with topping the monster first in this series.

Would recommend thethe watch the Boston feed, if possible. Announcers are quite laudatory of Newcomb, loving his New England roots.

Boston is doing a good job of waiting Newcomb out. Looks like Newk is going to have a rough day.

Camargo looks awful at 3b...can we go back to Bautista? You have to take the out at third there!

Done some of his best pitching against Betts. If Camargo steps on 3rd he's out of the inning.
